Founded by Dr Hilary A. Eke, Academia Africa emerged from a vision to bridge the gap between academic research and practical solutions. Over the years, we have grown into a vibrant community of researchers, professionals, and advocates committed to transforming Africa through cutting-edge knowledge and collaboration.

We started as a small group of African researchers who collaborated on visionary and innovative search for solution on the role of African scholars in the transformation and sustainable development of the continent. As we were majorly colleagues in the academia and Africans, our founder inspirationally tagged our WhatsApp group Academia Africa Forum. Seeing the progress and the results the collaboration was generating, there were calls to legally register the group as an incorporated trustee in the Nigerian Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), as a non-profit organisation, accepting individual and institutional members across the continent and beyond.
